What is it?
File sharing allows you to send your UberWriter file to a partner bank. This allows the recipient to view and edit the original file. This works great for banks who might be selling loans to another bank.
How do I send a file?
To send a file you must first develop a partnership with another bank using UberWriter. You will need to get their Sharing ID number. The recipient will need to send you their Sharing ID number and you must add it to your list of recipients.
How to I receive a file?
In order to receive a file you must first send your Sharing ID to your partner bank. Both the sharing and recipient party must have UberWriter accounts. Once your partner bank adds your Sharing ID to their account, the sharing partner can select specific files to be shared. When a file has been shared with you it will show up in a special area of the FILE page.
All shared files will appear under the Shared Files filter.
Shared files can also be found via the search box. You can search by file number, loan number, or borrower name.
What does it cost?
Sharing a file does not incur additional costs. The original file creation is debited to the sharing parties account. The recipient of the file is not charged.
Read / Write Access
Once a file has been shared, it can be viewed and edited by the recipient. The originator of the file will still be able to view the file, but it will be locked from further editing.
If the originator of the file would like to edit the file, they will need to create a copy of the file. Once a copy has been created the originator can edit the copy. The original file will remain locked. The file copy will not be automatically shared with the recipient of the original file.
